Old Yeller
« on: January 25, 2008, 04:56:19 PM »
Hello fellow Classic Mustang enthusiasts.  I have a 1965 yellow C code coupe.  I restored it about 10 years ago, and drive it daily.  Let's see if I can post a picture.

It seems to be in perfect condition for a daily driver restored 10 years ago. Is the inside and mechanic as nice as the outside? Welcome to our forum  ;D

Welcome to the neighborhood.  That's a beautiful car to be driven daily.  I'd be afraid to drive it daily, cuz if someone scratched it I'd end up in jail for sure.

Yeah, I also restored the interior.  Still has the original AM radio.

Beautiful!  It's great to know some people have great classics that are not used for decoration in their garage or moved on trailers  :)

No, she is not a trailer queen, and I drive her every day.  I show her once or twice a year, but she has not won a first place prize trophy yet.  There are others out there that are more perfect.
Go figure.

I bet the other ones winning the first place are trailer queens  :)
I have nothing against them and I enjoy admiring the quality of work done but a car is made to drive and what is the point to collect trophies if you can't enjoy your car? I know someone who used to own a Hemi Cuda valued at about a million dollars. He was so scared to get a scratch or in an accident that he never used it. After a few years he got tired of looking at it in the garage so he finally decided to sell it and bought a Dodge Viper he enjoys driving on week ends.

I agree.  These old Mustangs were a dime a dozen back in the day just like VW bugs were.  I still think of mine as a dime a dozen daily driver, and so drive it as my main car.  The wife drives the 03 Mach1.   ;D  I take pride in keeping Ol' Yeller  waxed and in tip top mechanical condition.  I have to apply some touch up paint occasionally, but I have that down to a science now.  I also use synthetic oil, and have upgraded the tranny and rear end to synthetic.
