Hello from Alabama.  I am new to this forum but not new to Mustangs.  In highschool I owned a '71 Mach 1 with a 351C-4V (that was pretty heavily modified).  That car was street raced but back then, the local cops were cool.  They would even clock us with their radar so that we'd have a trap speed at the end of our home grown 1/4 mile "track" (unfinished highway).

Since 1996, I've owned a '70 Mach 1 with its original 428CJ and automatic.  I always wanted a '70 and eventually bought one that had sat up in a garage and barn for 16 years serving as a multifamily unit/living space for countless generations of mice.  But there was almost no rust and accident damage was mostly limited to dings so the only major pain was the rewiring (and getting all the mice crap up where the carpet had been).  Its mostly restored with modifications (long list) although I kept original parts.  I will get a pic when I can but the car is at a mechanic/friend's place to help resolve a heat soak problem.  The car is calypso-corral (red-orange) with a black interior.  It originally came with a vermillion interior.  Who would order an orange car with a red interior?  I guess it was a very 70's car....  It even has a 1/3" hole drilled on top of the driver's side rear quarter panel right next to the trunk deck lid where someone once had an old CB antenna.  I am toying with putting installing an old CB antenna to cover the hole - without installing a CB at the other end.

Edit note - added 3 pics of my car.  As you can see, the paint job was never finished.  The hood stripe and the secondary stripe that circles the main stripe are missing as are the two sets of 428 hood decals.  For some reason, my car looks red in these pics.  Its probablybecaus eit was nearly dark.  The car is calypso corral - which is more of a sunset red-orange color.

Welcome to the group and good luck with the car. Sounds like a real "barn" find. . . .  8)
