my name is oscar, im a freshman in college (so money is tight) and im in the import scene but ive always been into mustangs..at the moment im looking for my first mustang so i wanted some ideas as to what would be good? i want a reliable dd that i can take to the track once in a while and get some decent numbers thanks oh my budget for the car is around 5k sry

My advice is for you to get a beater Toyota or something, get through college, get a decent job, then go looking for a Mustang that will do what you are asking.  I have over 13K into my old 65 and I certainly would not take it to the track.  5K will buy you an old worn out beat up Mustang in the Fox body class, or a classic that needs a ton of work.

I beg to differ!

I got my ride for $3 grand. You just got to look in the right places. Stay out of the ricer scene. Guys look better in muscle than rice. You can get a nice GT for about $5,500. Older about 98 or so.

yeah thats what i was aiming for, a 96-98 gt...ive seen them around here for 3-5k in fair condition


and well my car isnt so ricy...its all stock from the outside and has some stuff under the hood, its bored out, fmic, 3in exhaust, 16g turbo and its awd and some other things

I'm sorry, I thought you were referring to a classic.  Yeah, you can pick up a 96-98 for that kind of money.  It has just about depreciated out, so would be a good bargain, especially now when the economy is so low and everybody is trying to sell.  98 has fixed hers up to where it is a decent car, so the possibilities are endless.

I would def. get a 98. They are amazing cars i tell you. There are so many things you can get for them inside and out
