I am returning from Baghdad, Iraq. I bought a 2008 Mustang GT from the overseas military sales company. I can't wait to get home and see her. She is Vista Blue and is going to have 2 white racing stripes. I got the GT appearance package, anti-theft system, Interior upgrade package, High intensity lights, and the ambient lighting. I've been on youtube the few times when we are at the camp from outside the wire, and was looking at exhaust systems. I also have been looking at forums and reviews. I was going to buy the FRPP shorty headers, X pipe and exhaust kit. All I'm trying to do is make my mustang sound more like a mustang, a nice deep growl. Can anyone help me? I'm also looking to buy anything that will help my car live longer and get better gas mileage. I was considering buying the 90mm cold air intake and the FRPP drag kit. I am grateful for any help and advice you can all give me. Thank you very much.

Hey troop, welcome back home when you finally get here.  That's a nice coming home present you bought for yourself.  If I were you, I wouldn't do anything to that engine until I got it broken in.  Just put a K&N air filter on it and drive it like it is for about 10K miles then start the process of adding power additives and mufflers.

Hey Bro, Welcome back n Thanx for your service too!!  I am a Stang owner repeatedly.  Hate Fords, luv Mustangs!!  I have for GT from each of the last 3 decades!  '85 5.0 Gt Convertible(Caymen Island Green) Black rag/ Chrome Ponies no mods.  '95 5.0 GTS(Triple Black) Pulleys/ Straight Pipes out of the cats/ Hypertech chip/ Chrome Bullit rims.
 Now, about your new GT...
Last year I bought a  2007 GT, Grabber Orange and some add ons...
Roush stripes bumper to bumper
Roush scoup Non Functional
Roush solid side window covers
Boss Custom  20" Chromes...

Performance wise, I put on an SLP Axle Back Exhaust, BAD ASS Bro!! I have always been a fan of the Flowmaster exhausts until I got this.  This exhaust is wicked sick sounding, much different than the others, really edgy and stock car sounding.  I have people asking me every day what my exhaust is.
I also bought a JLT Series 11 Cold Air Intake (matching car color) and a Hypertech Max Energy Programmer.
I'm going to put some Underdrive Pulleys/ an X or H Pipe/ and  a Tach Shift Light, not much more so I don't void my warranty.

Just the EXHAUST,CAI, and PROGRAMMER make a huge difference in performance.  I have 10k on my car now and it runs like it's on FIRE!!
Good luck with your bolt ons,
