Hi Mustang drivers,

I just surfed across this great forum. I just wanted to say hello and hope to find lots of info and cool people around here.

I just got my first Mustang (2007) a couple of weeks ago. Great car I love it.

BTW my name is Johann, but you can call me John.

Welcome to the site Johann.  Where in Germany are you located?  I spent several years teaching with the Department of Defense schools in Germany, and know the country well.  I was stationed at Spangdahlem, just outside Bitburg.  I love Bitburger beer (Bier)  Ein bier, Bitte.

I'm in cologne currently. I grew in the black forrest area. I have never been to Bitburg but I do know the Beer

That Cathedral in Koln took centuries to build.  What an amazing building.  Supposedly the three kings are buried in that casket up front.

Yeah it amazes me everytime I'm there. It's huge not only in height and everything is build with so much details. hundreds of little statues are covering the whole cathedral.

I heard the story about the three kings here before. but I don't know if it's really true.

The three kings casket  is probably not true, but it makes for a good tourist thing.  It's a beatiful old city though, and I am glad the Americans and Brits didn't bomb that city during WW II.  Especially their ancient buildings.  The Germans tried to bomb the Cathedrals of England during the war, such as the Cathedral that Christopher Wren built, but didn't have success.  Christopher is buried in the basement of his church along with many other kings, etc.  The chhurch is St. Paul's.  If you have an opportunity, you need to visit that church.

You don't get any "beer" foam on your mouth after hoisting a few? Best beer I've had was in Belgium, but I've also been in France, Scotland, Ireland, Iceland, most of the South American countries and most of the Carribean countries drinking and sailing. Still, there's no place like home.

The best beer I have ever had was at a local bar in Germany , and it took the bar tender 20 minutes to draw it,  It was a pilsner.

Actually Cologne was bombed during WWII, pretty much everything was bombed here except the area around the cathedral. They needed the cathedral for orientation. Even the house I live in shows signs of it. 

If I ever get a chance to visit the Christopher Wren Cathedral I will. Thanks for the tip.
