I have to tell somebody that knows.
« on: February 01, 2009, 11:38:36 AM »
On Friday 01/29/2009 I bought a 2009 black on black GT Deluxe. Only options fake hood scoop and Shaker 500 sound. This is my first "muscle car" since 1967 when I made the mistake of buying a Plymouth Barracuda instead of a Mustang.

I paid 24,345 then got $500 back from Ford, MSRP 28,130.

I have been braking it in carefully and it now has 350 miles on it. I was on I 80 in the middle lane passing a slower car on the left at about 60 MPH. A typical clown tries to pass me on the right then when Bozo can't make it he gets on my back bumper; left lane wide open by the way.

I see his dung eating grin in my rear view mirror and became a bit perturbed. I dropped it into third and for the first time I put the peddle to the mettle. By the time I shifted into fifth I was doing 100 MPH and the grinning clown was dust in the wind. OMG it is 1967 all over again.  :o

Another 'Jersey Cowboy' - welcome.  ;)
(I do that pedal to the metal bit all the time with my 66 GT 'K' car.)

I always peddle to metal in my 03 Mach while I am entering a freeway.  By the time I am on the freeway I am going well over 80.  Love it.....

I didn't want to open it up until I got 500 miles on the odometer and changed the oil. It was a reflex action. As soon as I saw 100 MPH on the speed odometer I backed off to 60. A short time later I passed by a New Jersey State Trooper sitting in the median.

OMG I pay $2000.00 a year to insure my GT with no tickets. I don't think that will last.  ::)

In 67' we only had four on the floor; I can't get used to third being where fourth used to be. I think I might get a queue ball short throw shifter.
