Hello from Monroe NC
« on: January 31, 2010, 08:08:47 AM »
Hey ya'll.  New to the forum, but have had my 1965 Coupe (an A code, but was made a backdoor GT).   for about 10 years.  Before this car, I had first bought a '66 coupe, was having body work done, and the guy stripped and sold off my car for parts, but not before taking his deposit money first.  What was left of the car was a complete loss.  The guy got off with probation and restitution, which was of course never paid.  The guy disappeared.  A couple years later I found my 65 (ten years ago) and have been patiently waiting to do a restomod.  2010 is the year.  Finally have some money to play with, so I plan to try and keep the car as original as possible, but make some mods to increase performance and handling.  Hope to find help and suggestions here.

Welcome from semi-sunny California. There is enough experienced Mustang nuts on the forum to answer just about anything you can think of. I strongly recomend that you read the FAQ section as well. It makes Glen (Soaring) feel good.

What do you mean by a "back door GT?"  That's an interesting concept for a 65 Mustang, and I picture it as maybe a hatchback or something of that nature.

It's a self-induced (clone, copy, etc), sort of like the 66 hardtop "A" code I have with duals and fog lamps.

Wesley Chapel is having a Festival this Sat Oct 2nd.  The Festival will start with a parade to which members of the Carolina Regional Mustang Club has been invited.  Any other Mustangs from the area are welcome.

If you have some time to show your Mustang off this Saturday morning the Parade will start from the Wesley Chapel Fire Station on Waxhaw Indian Trail Rd.  Cars will assemble at 9:15 am.   Road will be closed at 9:45.

Cars partciapting in the parade will have designated parking at the Festival site for a car show.

Hope to see some of you there.
