« on: March 01, 2008, 11:27:16 AM »
My name id DonB and I'm a Mustang-ohlic! Wanted to say hello. My Stang, Sally (original huh?), is a blue on blue 1983 GLX convertible. All original, 302 HO, 4 speed. I bought her new in Feb of 83 and still drive it today. I have more info on her and GLX's in particular at ohiobikers.com/GLX Stop by some time!

Hey Don....welcome to the site. There aren't many 83's owned by their original owner I would suspect.  What have you done to it since you have owned it?

Thanks! Sorry for the delay. Been playing road warrior for most of the month. I don't think I've met an original owner since the late 80's. Until this year, I have done nothing except normal wear item replacements: top, tires, intake gaskets (one of Ford's better ideas :( ). I did replace the original carb with a 650 Holley because I couldn't find a replacement view window. I just put a double hump trans mount and went to a dual exhaust with Ford racing headers. Never knew how mean it could sound! For the most part, it's bone stock.

Is it a 4 barrel carb?  Yeah, 4100's changed to 4300's which were a pile of shit compared to the 4100's.  You're probably better off with the Holley.  My old 65 is mostly stock.  It has dual mufflers, a Monte Carlo bar, an Export brace and a 4 row radiator, but everything else is bone stock except for the Mag 500 wheels.   I have the 03 Mach1 to go fast.,   ;D
