I currently have a 1965 Fastback, but have done a ground up restoration on a 1965 Coupe and a 1968 Fastback into which I transplanted a 514 CI BBF with a C6. Live in Vancouver WA. I loaded a picture of the 65 FB into the album.

Averge ET is in the 9.80's. Best ET ever was a 9.74 @ 136.99 with a 1.360 60 foot. It runs a 10 inch Mickey Thompson slick with ladder bar suspension. Leaves the line at 5800 RPM and shifts at 8500 RPM.

When they run right it's great. I checked out the "Mustang Mafia" site. How are the expansion plans going and how long since it has been in existance? Sounds like a cool idea to put together a group of Mustangs enthusiast that may not believe in doing things by the numbers.

Let me know if I can help. I will ad a link to the site from our website. We see a lot of traffic.

Thanks,

Ron

send me your link and I will add you as well.  I will help anyone that will help us.

Well Im not rushing any thing so our new chapters come slowly but I feel if they come to me and want to start a chapter then they will do more then I ask them.   we have 7 chapters as of now and picked up members from 4 other countries as well.  Oh we have been up and running for 2 years now, well 2 and a month.

We also have member in alot of states just no chapters for them.  I think I have picked up 6 or 7 members in the last few days.  Ya I felt we need a club just for us and that was more about you and your car no matter what it looked like and not about how much money I could make off my member no matter what they drive.  Most of the big clubs just want the dues and it don't matter what you drive.

Mustang Restoration
« Reply #8 on: February 18, 2007, 04:53:33 PM »
Greetings,

I am restoring a 1970 Mustang with a 351 Cleveland engine and I need some help.  The engine runs and the odometer says 97, 000 miles (don't know how reliable that is) I don't know if I should rebuild this engine or by a crate 302 engine to replace it.  It also needs some transmission work, doesn't shift gears properly.  What would you do first?

Transmission is a C4, C6, toploader? You cannot build an engine for as cheaply as you can buy a new Ford crate motor. So I would highly recommend either a new Ford crate motor or a remanufactured engine with a 3 year, 100,000 mile warranty.

Let me know on the transmission.

Very impressive Mustang you have Fastone. Your websites are also very interesting. They both deserve to be in the link pages of this site too:

Thanks for the positive feedback. Long hours maintaining both sites, but well worth it.

Thank you,
