Welcome to our forum Arpadge. You have a very beautifull Mustang but I am afraid to tell you that it's not an original CJ. The Cobra Jet package was discontinued in mid 1971. Anyway, it appears to be in perfect condition and I hope you will tell us more about this nice convertible.

Thanks...This an original 73 "Q" code 4 barrel 351 still called cobra jet but not as many HP as the 71. I am the second owner and has the original paint. It also has just about every option PW,tilt,AC, int wipers, comp. suspension.

Very Nice.  I know you said its a CJ but could it be the same as the 71 351 boss?   They put the 351 boss in the 71 and in 72 but it had less compression then the 71.  I would say that some may have went in the 73.  The CJ's have it stamped on the motor.  Not sure the spots but that would end all that.

Still one nice car would love to see more photos of it

Thanks. In 1973 there were 2 - 351 engine options a 351-2v and the one I have 351-4v . Some literiture calls it CJ.

the 351 2v was a ram air car as well.  The book I have don't really tell me much other then the code and what motor went with it.  its the Mustang Recognition Guide, its a good book but the ones you get that are just for your year I think are far better.  I bought the 1969 Mustang Facts Book.  I think it tells me more then the other.

Either way man the car is nice.

Ford always offered strange versions of the Mustang during the early years and it is not impossible yours is a CJ but I am very curious to know more about it.

Ford made 293 Mustang Convertibles in 1973 with a 4 speed and the "Q" code 351 4v Cobra Jet. ( the only way a 4 speed was available) Not sure how much de-tuning happened between 1971 and 1973 to the 351-4v. This was the largest/longest Mustang ever made. The last convertible or PW car until 1983. The very last motor to exceed 5.0 litres.
