the v8 cars gave up the 7.5 that previous 5.0s used
and 5.0s werent very weak they were 225hp and 300ftlbs of torque same as an "A" code 289 and they were faster
The more I keep reading about the 7.5 and the 8.8 the more I realize that both you and I are worng, unless this is a completely different 7.5 than Ford used in the mid 60's 6 bangers. Check this out.
Question #3 - Does my V6 Mustang have a "Trak-Lok" rear end?
No. The 1994-2007 V6 Coupe is delivered with a 7.5" open (non-lock up) differential. The V8 Mustang GTs have an 8.8" Trak-Lok rear in the stock configuration.
Question #4 - How much power will my V6 Mustang Trak-Lok rear end handle?
According to most sources, the 7.5" Trak-Lok will safely handle up to 450Hp. The 8.8" Trak-Lok will handle even more.
