Power brake and power steering conversion for a 1966 Mustang
« on: August 11, 2008, 05:10:13 PM »
I'm using a 1970 spindle to convert my drums to discs.  Will the power steering gear box and other items from a 1968 coupe work on a 1966 fastback?
Thanks,
KC

That will depend on a lot of other parts that you will need to have to convert to a disk brake setup.  So, what other parts do you have besides the '70 spindle?

The gear box is not compatible with 1966 (64 and 65 included) cars. You need a 64-66 box. Typically, a 70 disc brake setup also used power assist and with power, the brake pedals on a 70 (67 to 70 included) drum and disc systems are different. Big problem. You got a proportioning valve?
