Glen,
  Hollister is about 30-35 miles South of San Jose (do you know the way to San Jose?). It's most famous for the motocycle gang that wrecked parts of the town in the late 1940's (see Brando). Currently it is a wine grape growing area and, to my surprise, has a good reputation for chocolate.
