1965 mustang GT 350 Shelby car 515
« on: July 18, 2008, 03:09:32 PM »
1965 mustang Shelby GT-350, white, blue racing stripes, black interior, 88,770 miles, 289" Hi-Po engine, original wood steering wheel. Car is equipped with a 5 speed manual transmission which is more user friendly on the streets than the original 4 speed manual transmission which comes with the car.  This 1965 mustang Shelby GT-350 has all original sheet metal and fiberglas.  It is #515 of 565 made and signed by Carroll Shelby. Tag:  5S515. The history of the car can be viewed at: http://registry.teamshelby.com
Several previous owners were people who were close to Carroll Shelby.
The car is clean, inside, outside, and underneath.  Everything works on the car.  It has the original GT350 Shelby sticker under the hood over the vin # on the inner fender, placed there by the Shelby group.  On the passenger side CFM 515 is stamped on the shocktower.  $249,995.  Please: inquiries from financially qualified persons only and no inquiries from picture collectors, no trades.  Thankyou.  336-765-8312, 336-575-9962.

I shake my head in disbelief that just because it is a K code Shelby that it would be worth a 1/4 of a million dollars.  Can you imagine the modern performance car you could buy at that price?

If people are willing to pay that much, I guess it's worth that much  :)
For that amount of money you can buy a car with higher performances but it won't be a legendary Shelby.

Well, that technology was used back 45 years ago.  I am not one to worship an old Mustang with a price tag of a 1/4 of a million dollars when that car sold for less than 3 thousand.  I have some old technology stereo equipment that I don't listen to anymore because the new technology is so much better.  This 1/4 of a million priced car cannot be driven.  It is for bragging rights and for show only.  My Mustangs are driven daily, and that includes my 65.

You're off by a bit, a Shelby in 1965 or 1966 sold for about $4500, new. Still, I know the owner of a few Shelbys he bought recently in the $250,000 range. It's good to be rich.

The sad part is, you can't enjoy driving them.  They are museum pieces.  Sad, sad........

We ordinary people just shake our heads in disbelief.  Oh to have 1/4 million dollars to spend on a Mustang.

Yeah, for that money I could buy a Ford GT and a new GT-500.
