It's pretty rare to have a top loader in a T code.  Most likely the mileage is 100K more than that, but that can't be confirmed as you have stated.  That sounds like too much money for a rusty T code, though.  How is the top?

I think when you put a nice paint job on it, you would want the top to be as fresh, as well.  No shortcuts when doing a restoration.  Thankyou.
