Thanks for that information for our DFW neighborhood guys and gals.  I wonder why they went belly up?  Usually it's because a lack of sales versus the expense of building their product.  In other words, supply versus demand.  They had the supply of Eleanor clones, but folks weren't buying them.  I don't blame them.

A lot of bad things happened with Unique Performance and it's not due to the lack of customers. Some of them started to sue Unique Performance because they didn't receive the car they ordered years after they placed an order.

But that's not the worse. The police raided their place a few months ago and found cars with fake VIN plates with signs of scratching where the old ones were.
They were also hiring inmates to do most of the work using gallons of Bondo to fix rust, and cheap parts made in Asia.

Oh yeah, I remember that news now.  Doesn't pay to be a crook.

No shit.  You would be knee deep in law suits if you had assisted him.

Somehow I missed this story.  I was always impressed with their concept.  Take an older car and update it...everyone's dream.  Looks like the owner's didn't realize Nicolas Cage was playing a fictional character.  It really isn't nice to grind out VINs.  I don't think it's legal, either.  The last I read, the authorities hadn't arrested the owners.  Is this true?
