I can't really make out the running horse in the grille, but it appears to be a cougar instead of a pony.   But if it is a pony he is running the wrong direction, and the bar is missing.

That's not a good picture to determine small differences, but maybe the rearview mirror is somehow attached to the windshield, and it shouln't be.  What is that spot on the windshield directly in line with the rearview mirror? 
Mine is attached to the top, but I have a coupe.  Not sure about a vert.

I'm not too good with the early mustangs so this is just a guess. The 289, and the mustang emblems on the fender?

Yea, you are right,  It should have the289 badge on the fender.  Along with the running horse badge.

The I-6 did not have an emblem, but you got the Pony on the fender. That's three. There's more.

Is there a pot of gold at the end of this Easter egg hunt?    The chrome is missing from the fake rear brake cooler.

No side or verticle chrome in grill bars.
There is no 289 emblem.
There are no front verticle bumperettes.
There is no Mustang w/horse on the side (in front of door)
No rocker molding.
No corner side moldin in "C" body line (optional).
I can't see the color of the interior, but with the dark boot color, the visors may be the wrong color too!
No tinted window.

All this from a CAMARO GUY that sells slot cars.

- Correct, almost.

- Pay attention. I-6 engines (170CID and 200CID equipped cars) did not have emblems
There are no front verticle bumperettes.
- Correct, aka bumper guards.
There is no Mustang w/horse on the side (in front of door)
- Correct.
No rocker molding.
- Correct. (Very good.)
No corner side moldin in "C" body line (optional).
- Correct, the molding was standard except in "true" 65 cars with the GT, all Fastbacks, and certain paint options.
I can't see the color of the interior, but with the dark boot color, the visors may be the wrong color too!
- Interesting point, the interior is "dark" in a different view (it's a black and white photo), but visors were not color keyed to interiors until a federally mandated padded visor was installed.
No tinted window.
- Optional at $30.25.
This is the most complete observation so far, but there's more.

Excellent catch - almost. Yes the color of the grill is not bright as in chrome, it is medium blue (it would show up as gray in a black and white photo) and the pattern is a bit strange but it is accurate. The so-called "hex hole" type is the standard grill for all 64 and 65 cars. It made no difference as to engine type or options as to color. However, on fog lamp equipped cars, the mounting bars are different and in a different location.

It has the letters F-R-O-D on the hood instead of F-O-R-D?
There is no FORD script on the turn signal lenses?

What, ya'll givin up? There's one more tiny detail that's "not correct" on the car. I'll give you a clue - it's a MCA judging detail that has cost the gold to a few.
