BlackShadow:
Horsepower not to bad and the torque is great but  the engine noise of the diesel  (rattle rattle rattle) would drive my wife nuts. She hate my powerstroke  XLT just because of the noise and it does have  sound deadening. And she will not ever full the tank, she doesn't like the smell of Diesel.... hahaha .  I could see this going over well in Europe, diesel seem to sell better there for some reason. But I would give it a chance, test drive. My goal is to buy a 50th anniversary Mustang not sure which one but I do know I want it to be Black. Ha    But I want the built date as close to 50 year after Sept 9 1964(my stangs built date) as I can get.  Like I said before times are a changing. Who would have ever thought a diesel mustang ...  :o

Soaring:
Some of the smaller diesel cars are not quite as noisy as your psd.  I just don't like breaking tradition of the muscle cars that Mustang has become to represent.  Diesel here in Texas is quite a bit more expensive than gasoline, so there would be a downside there.  The diesel engines don't smell quite as bad as they used to, but if the injectors, etc are dirty they will still blow black smoke.  Not good for the environment IMO.   BTW, the inventor of the diesel engine was Diesel, a German.

Diesel and a Mustang? I don't know. It is loud, it smell and it is diesel :) There are some cars in the world that shouldn't be diesel cars. And a Mustang is one of these cars.

Anyway, I don't care that much. I have my Mustang already. But if people want a diesel mustang, they will get one.

Tim175:
The idea is horrid imho. Its a muscle car, not a damn truck.
