Rim Suggestions wanted

My 66 coupe currently has baby moon rims (smoothies) on it, I am looking at changing these out for a better look. Any suggestions on what could go on it without degrading the era??? I am leaning toward a mag or more sporty look...

Post a pic of your car. Some cars look better with one wheel choice than others depending on color, etc. If nothing else, you can't go wrong with American Racing Torque Thrusts.

My first choice would be Magnum 500's or maybe even torque thrusts, but its ultimately up to you.

On my original 66 Mustang Fastback, I had a set of ET mags, kept them when I got my 69 Sportsroof, sold them to a guy who put them on a dual axle trailer. That style mag or American mags, is about the best aftermarket type "period" wheels. On my current three Mustangs, I have the Ford Style Steel Wheels (two cars have the originals) and they to can be considered "period".

I appreciate the advice. I think I am going to go with the Mag 500's. I like the look. Most that I have found online state 1970 and later, will these fit my 66? Also what size rim would you all suggest?

Mag 500s actually started availability on Mustangs with the '66 Shelbys. 14x7s or 15x7s depending on which size dia. rim you prefer are good rims size choices. I believe '66 thru '68s were 14s from the factory and 15s didn't appear until '69 or '70.
The tire will have more physical appearance on 14s where the 15s the tire will be a somewhat thinner profile. I went with 15x7s on both of my 65s.

I have been trying to post a picture here. Hopefully this one is correct. I am having an alarm installed at the time of the photo. Hope this helps with the wheel advice.

The previous owner took second place in a show with those rims on the vehicle. I am leaning towards a sportier look though. I will definitely hold on to them.

I don't think I would go with Mag 500's on that particular car. Sure, they'll look OK, but I think a chrome AmRacing Torque thrusts would look best. I'd even consider some 15x7 Ford Style steel wheels on it. I think your car needs the brighter or heavier chrome of those 2 last wheels I suggested.
VERY IMPORTANT...Are you going with white letter tires? or Black walls? THat will also make some difference on wheel choice. Obvisously, I like RWLs on Mag 500s, but not on Torque Thrusts.
THat's the best picture you've got?

That is the smallest picture I have, the rest cant be posted here due to size. I will post more once I take some smaller pics. Thanks for the advice. I am thinking of getting away from the white walls and going with black.

Good idea ditching the white walls, just doing that will make your smoothies look so much better. Whitewalls look good with hubcaps but not so good with wheels.

Take your pick.
I like the top one best, but it's your car...you decide.

I prefer either the 500's or the styled steel for that period. You can't go wrong with either one of them. Just remember that if the first thing folks look at when they view your car are the wheels, then they are the wrong ones. The wheels must blend into the overall picture of the car.

My personal two favorites are the Magnum 500s and the Torque Thrusts. It still depends on a lot of factors though, not to mention my opinion doesn't matter its your car
