Wanna know what kinda gears should i get?I still want ok gas mileage and not to short of gears.

It all depends on what your application is.  Do you want a street/strip car, or do you want a light to light screamer?  The 3:78's are the best for all-around gears if it is going to be a town car.  4:11's are for the strip and kick ass from light to light.

I want street and strip.Shorter gears than stock but still want reasonable gas mileage

Then stay below the 400 gears.

I think i'm going to go with the 3.73's

You guys are in another world.  My car only runs on 92 octane but I can get 18mpg out of my 3.0 9 inch with ported 351CJ open heads.   Keep your foot out of it.   I LOVE the 3.50 gears for my 73 to kick the Z28 pawn's cause they cannot finish... Eat'm up..  Hey I run open rear and still kick'm.   Run 11.2:1 compression and 92 octane in a 351CJ with open heads, 4 speed top loader....  Need I say more.

Yeah, for the highway, you can add an AOD tranny and get much better mileage than with a standard  C-4 or 4 speed transmission, but it costs to make the conversion.  I just wonder how long it would take to pay for a new overdrive transmission just to save a few bucks on gas prices?  I agree that the 350 gears are kick ass gears, but the 373's will give that added punch from light to light and on the strip, which is what he wants.
