Nice 66 Mustang
« on: December 06, 2010, 11:55:30 PM »
Saw this picture and just wanted to post it. I really love it. Just a really nice 66. That silver really looks good on it. Does it belong to any one on here? From what I can see, I would rate this a 10. :)

If I owned one in that shape, I would keep it exactly where it is and get a daily driver - oh, I do. I got two garage queens and a daily driver.
Well, I do ocassionally take the "K" out and stretch its legs.

What good are these Mustangs if you don't drive them?

I would love to drive that one. But only on really-really nice days. But it would look better springtime yellow.  ::) But really looks good with the silver they picked out. Do not think that is an OE color. But looks so good who cares?

Glens (Soaring) car is springtime yellow but for some reason in his picture it looks white. Yes, I really like the springtime yellow.

The Springtime yellow is a very light yellow, so in certain lights it looks almost white.  Mustang came out with a white (Wimbeldon) back in 65, so with pictures, sometimes foks get the two confused.

At least it's not that egg yellow I've seen on some of the newer ones.  Those are just Butt ugly IMO.

Glen's shade of Springtime yellow is a result of two local natural phenomea, the hot Texas sun bleaching the paint white, and the abrasive nature of the dry winds blowing in from West Texas.

And I thought it was from all of the wax jobs. . . . .  8)

On a serious note I had the same issues when we lived in Phoenix, AZ.

Nah, I had the 65 repainted in '93 and it has spent most of its' life in the garage since then.  Springtime yellow is not a very bright/dark yellow.

As far as I am concerned, springtime yellow is just the right tone of yellow. I agree with Glen, some of the newer yellows they come out with is just too much for my taste. But that is me. Glen, did you have the car repainted with base coat/clear coat?
