Hello to all Mustang owners. I can finally say that I joined the club. I went to iraq and while I was there my wife bought me a 1973 mach one that is all oringial, a very nice find if I might add. the problem that I am having which I hope you will be able to help me is that I cannot find alot of information about them, as far as how to beef up the motor with out ripping it apart and the FMX trans. there is a couple things I need to get for it like new seat and little stuff like that but nothing major if someone that has owned one for long than me please help me. Thanks and yes it feels dam good to be back

is your seat foam still good? you can always put in after market seats, JC whitney has them for for sale right now for 100 bucks each. I have two coming.

hey racedraper, thanks for the reply I have a 351C 2V. Yeah I know it is the Two Valve but at this point it is so close to factory I am thinking about keeping it that way and yes I have heard bad things about the fmx trans, but don't know how much it would bring down the value if I put in the C6. if you have any more information please feel free to write back thanks

well just keep the stock parts if you plan to sell. The first I did to my 351c 2v was change to 4 barrel by getting edelbrock stuff. Believe it or not you can get more H.P. out of a 2 v then 4v. does yours still burn leaded gas like mine?lol, thats next on the list.

So you are saying keep the 2v just put he 4 barrell carb on it? I didn't think that alone would really help I know it would a little but not that much. Does your ram air work at all? I have also been thinking about getting that stuff up and running but still in the works on what to do with it.

if your heads are a 2v ,a 4 v intake will not work. you have to get the 2v intake that is ready for a 4 barrel carb....

wb and 1st of all let me thank you for fighting for all of our freedom.
i read your post and it reminded me of a story i just read in mustang montly. To make a long story short a man sold his 70 mach 1 that he had for years to have the money put back for his wife and kids while he was off fighting for freedom. He loved his car more than life its self as all mustang owers do. one he got to iraq he regreated it. so he got online and was looking for another one to buy while he was in iraq. he got on a few forums and was asking the ppl in the USA to help him find a 70 mach 1. well a man replyed back and told him he had found and sent him pictures of the car . Well come to find the car was the one he sold and he check the vin on the car and it matched his old one to a t. He them asked if someone would buy his car back and he would bring them cash in 6 months when he returned home for the car. Noone reply to it so he thought it was a lost cause. When his 6 months was up he returned home, When his wife picked him up at the base they were driving home and his wife pulled into a car lot and dropped him off. He asked his wife what they were doing there she said ask for jim and drove off. the sales man walked out and asked if he could help him he goes my wife dropped me off and told me to ask for jim and he had no clue why he was there. The salesman then sad lets go find out then. they walked in found jim and the told jim the story. Jim then took him out back and handed hom the keys to his mach 1. and said its yours. Come to find out another car dealer had bought him his mach one back and there was a note inside with a # fir him to call. he called the man who boguth his car back for him and the man told him the car was his and he could what he could afford when he could afford it. in 2 weeks the man got his clear title and paper work in the mail and the sale price said 1.00. he siad the price of the car was not negotiable. that was the best story i have read over a car in a long time if i can find the story online ill copy and paste it here for you all to read. I do know it was in the sept or oct issue of MM FF or mustang monthly.
