Sooooooo im getting a hood scoop and i dont know what color to get.... i think black would look cool but the hood scoop would be wider than the stripe so i dont know if that would look good. On the other hand i would like to get a silver scoop and make it look like the stripe is going into the scoop...... any advice?

I'd stick with the black with that light body color.

why don't you paint it so that the hood scoop follows the stripe, i think that might give it a cool look.

Yeah, I agree. You don't have to stick with the wide stripe. Design it yourself.

I thought you were going to say you spend all your money on women. That's what I did when I was 16. I chased everything that wore a dress.

i know what your saying i am only 19 so money is always an issue with me and my car, but you should go out and try to get some prices for what you think you want to get done that way you know a rough number and you can put away enough money to get what you want

I worked in a drug store as a soda jerk to help pay for my stuff while I was in high school. Flipping burgers, or pizzas is pretty good income for a 16 year old. Once you get that Mustang up to par, you will know it is all yours, and will be extremely proud of it.

Kids! What you pay for one car per year covers my three Mustangs (one 65, two 66s), a 69 VW Baja and my Ford Van. Don't worry, you'll "grow" out of it.

My 03 Mach1 and my 03 Ford F-150 have full coverage. but my '65 is insured by an antique insurance agency, and only costs me $95 for a year. I don't know if I should put the 1965 plates back on it, or get "antique" plates. What do you guys think?

If you have original plates use them, otherwise get a set of personized ones, like "OL YELLR", or "OL GRUMP" -

Yeah, I have the original plates, but they are nasty looking. I'll look into getting some new "Antique" plates.

personally i think that the older plates look good on the older cars . my uncle owns a restoration shop and every time he has the original plates he uses them. i think it gives the car a little more personality.

I've tried to restore them but I didn't do a very good job in my estimation. They were pretty rusty, and especially the rear one.
