Topic: History of your Mustang

Is there a way to find out the history of our Mustangs? I know on the newer cars you have "Carfax" but what about older Mustangs? Is there a web site for this? If the only answer is the DMV then how do you find out the history with them? I would like to know the history from the time it came down the assembly (SP) line to present.

Some states will provide you with the ownership history for a fee (I got the ownership history of mine when I was in Texas).  The best way to find out is to ask the state or county entity that issues your licence plates.

However, the records all the way back to the birth date of your car may no longer be available.  Texas only went back to 1978.

For a Mustang before 67 your not going to get the info. you want as for build times. Sad thing is for the "old" iron there is no such thing as a matching number car. The early Mustangs were put together with whatever part was available from the Ford family to keep the production line running. I ordered mine new in 66 so I have the owner and cost history down to the pick up date at the dealer. I also still have the original invoice. . . . . Life is good, live it well. . . .
