high speeds
« on: June 27, 2009, 05:21:00 AM »
i am in the army and stationed in germany. i want to get some body effects on my 05 gt but will high speeds on the autobahn be the end of them. are louvers and chin effects stable enough for 155. also how can i pull the most power out of my 4.6 for better throttle response and acceleration. the top speed is impressive but i want to get there faster.

Hey, Stryker and welcome to the site.  I was stationed in Germany for several years, and never drove much over 100 MPH.  (180 KPH)  But, if you are driving that 05 155 MPH, you shouldn't be hanging any body stuff on it that is likely to blow off and damage another car.  The Polzei frown on that.  Just wait until you get home with the car to dress it up.  I am assuming you have 355 gears out the back.  So, changing the gears won't help you get to 155 any faster because 410's won't even allow you to go 155.  About the only thing you can do in the Auto Hobby Shop on post is to install a blower.  That will basically make the 4.6 a Cobra engine.  Good luck with your decision.

Yeah, but the old school rims won't fit your '05.  Are you looking for rims for your father's classic?

i want my mustang to look more like an old fastback as much as possible. i love the body and think that an older style rim would be the best choice for what i want my car to be.

Do you have 17" or 18" rims on that 05?  If you have 17" rims, you could get yourself a set of 03 Mach1 rims that would be the closest you could come to having rims that will fit your car.  Here is what mine looks like.

i have the 18 inch billet rims. did your mach1 come stock with the twister air induction just like the old 428 cobra jet? do you think you could send me some pics of it and how it works.

Yes my Mach1 has the shaker hood and the forced induction air system.  You can see how the air is forced into the top of the EFI and also down over to the air filter.  That way more than twice the air is being forced through the filter than a standard 4.6 engine.  She's a screamer.
