most of the electricals on my 68 mustang coupe no longer work and i wanted to know how hard it is to install a completely new wiring harness from taillights to headlights....

It is not a problem with the tail light rear section, nor is it rocket science with the engine compartment, but under the dash is a problem mainly because the dash cannot be taken out, and so you have to lie on your back on the floor and work over your head.  Painless makes the kits to completely rewire your car, so give them a holler if you decide to do it.  http://www.painlessperformance.com/

Easy - sure. Time consuming - possibly. Expensive - yes. With all the correct new wiring harnesses for your car in hand and my experience in electronics and cars, I figure I could replace them all in less than a day. What kind of time, money and experience do you have?

Plenty of time very limited money and some electrical experience but I have an uncle who is really good with cars he just doesn't know fords I just needed to know if those wiring kits were worth it thanks soaring and jim

Oh, they are worth it, but I think Jim has made it sound more simple than it really is.  Especially the under dash stuff.  My back and shoulders hurt just thinking about it.  Your uncle doesn't need to know about Fords in particular.  Most of these old cars are wired similarly.  If he has a basic idea of how to wire an old  Chevy, he can wire an old Mustang.  I've got some pretty good wiring diagrams in the FAQ section if you need some references.

Well I have no dash pad and recently removed the steering wheel and I can take the seats out I just gotta wait on tax return to get all the stuff I'm talkin about on here ha feb 3!!!

The dash pad has nothing to do with getting to the wiring connections.  If you don't have an airconditioner, that is a plus to access to under dash wiring hook up though.

It does have ac but I'm not going to use it I've pulled most of it out I'm not worried about value depreciation because its a family heirloom

OK, with the condenser and all the other air con related stuff out of the way, you are ahead as far as access.  Still, you are going to be on your back looking up and your shoulders are going to need a good rub from MaMa at night.  Nothing wrong with that, huh?  Good luck with it bubba, I don't envy you.
