at first glance i was like oh that isn't to bad but after further inspection in my garage it looks like some one backed into my front bumper just below my driver side head light. when they did that they snapped the mounts off of my bumper that attach it to my front fender. so i am not sure if it can be like jerry rigged or if ill just need a whole new bumper.

If the bumper isn't damaged you won't have to replace it, but the bumper guard, stone guard and rails (braces)will probably have to be replaced.

in my case the people had already made there get away. but i was looking at it the other day and i am starting to think that it is worse than it may look. the reason is my hood looks like it is no longer lined up propperly( the gaps are way off) and it also looks lik my head light droped down about a 1/ 2 in.

So, you have a restriction and a time frame to claim? That sucks. I've never heard of that. I'd give the insurance co. a call anyway.

Oh yes... It will definitely raise your insurance premium. It just depends on how much money we are talking about here to get it fixed. I have had some fender benders that were fixed for less than the premium would have gone up over a period of a few years, so just paid for it out-of-pocket and didn't call the insurance company. Have the damage appraised, then decide, but if your mom says the deadline is over, then it's over. You are just going to have to sack a few more groceries to pay for the damage. What I have done in the past is to change insurance companies with a much lower rate.

yeah i that if i can get it fixed for under a thousand than that will be cheaper than doing it through the insurance because as it stands i already pay a boat load for my car every year

Decisions, decisions. If you can get it fixed for under a thousand, then I wouldn't report it to your insurance company. Now, the problem is coming up with the thousand, but if you have a 500 deductible, then half of your money is already spent. Either drive it like it is and wait until you have the amount to repair it, or just keep driving it like it is. I don't like doing that to a Mustang though. I'll bust my ass to get the money to pay for the damage.
