Hey,
It's really a great news.I like the idea of 305hp in V6 Mustang.I've always thought there should be some system like that on cars.

I still think there is nothing like a V8.  What HP will the new 2011 V8 produce?

Just came across the following links about the 2011 GT.  Looks like Ford is planning on increasing the engine to a true 5.0 liter with 412 HP with 390 lds of torque!  I'm already jealous given my 2008 GT  5 speed has only 300HP!

At least you can correctly spell the word LOSE.  I don't know how many times I see people trying to spell lose LOOSE.  No sweat with the  2011 V6's beating the 2011 V8's.   Torque is what it's all about.  Don't sweat the HP the new V6's produce.  That is just a marketing scheme.

You are close!  Here's the link from Car & Driver refarding the new 5.0 GT from the International Auto Show in Detroit.

I love how factories always rate the horsepower to the engine, but never to the wheels. In my opinion it doesn't matter how much horsepower the engine has, what matters is how much horsepower your CAR has. So if it really is a 305 HP v6 then to the wheels if its an auto depending on gears probably only 205+ to the wheels so not to intimidating.

I'm pretty sure it is rear wheel horsepower.. they haven't listed engine only horsepower since the 70's. Ford is  trying to play catch up with GM and Dodge (Camero and Challenger)

Did you guys read the report of the race between the new Mustang and the new Camaro?  The Camaro beat the Mustang by like .04 of a second in the quarter, and the Camaro has damn near 100 more horses.  The Challenger is too heavy and butt ugly in my opinion.

What do I think?  I want one!  300hp out of a sixer is awesome, it's about time Ford is getting more horsepower out of the smaller engines.  It's kind of funny, the V6 nowadays has more horsepower than a 5.0L back in the 80s.
