Take some measurements of the cut-out on the dash. If the dimensions match, then yes. The wiring won't be much of a problem, and you will have the best stereo system Ford could possibly put in a car. My Mach stereo in my 03 Mach 1 is outstanding. The Mach system has 7 speakers though, so you may have to figure out how to get all those speakers in the '98 or leave out the tweeters or something. I can send you pics of where the speakers are located in my 03 if you run into a head scratching problem.
