Winter is finally over
« on: March 28, 2010, 06:17:04 AM »
Cruising season is just around the corner, its been a long winter! Now all that's needed is a few good rains to wash all the freaking salt off the roads.

They ought to be hitting there today.  We had our first "salt washer" yesterday - it poured, with hail too.
I'm in SW MIssouri and we get them before you do.  Our storms mostly travel NE right up the interstate in your direction, so if you want to know the weather for tomorrow, call me the day before.  ;D

Fortunately, we don't get snow in my neck of the woods, so no salt is used during the winter.  I can drive my Mustangs 24-7 year 'round.  I keep them in the garage, but I had some birds get in there somehow and they shit all over them.  So, today is hand washing day.

Just drive that Mustang to Ohio and let the rain wash all the shit off. The only thing worse than bird shit is tree sap so, it could be worse lol

;D Nah, I Have to use "raindance" to wash them.  They both shine like a mofo afterwards, but I still wax them both twice a year so the bird shit doesn't get to the paint.

It was 75F yesterday and no wind. I put 14 miles on my 18 speed bike mostly on the levees out on the Southern end of San Francisco Bay. Today was a bit cooler, 70F, and a lot more wind, only 13.8 miles. Yeah, winter's a drag. I'll take the "K" car out for a run tomorrow to calm my nerves. Now it's CRW time (heh heh heh).

I can't imagine riding a hog in 31F weather.  65-75 is just perfect here for anything you want to do.  I took  'Ol yeller out of the garage and opened up all the windows and got her up to 75 MPH.  Felt good.....

Yea, I told myself the night before I was gonna ride in.  I only have a 15 minute commute in the morning, no traffic at 3:30 in the morn. I had to pry the boys off my leg they were frozen lol

Cancun is for college kids.  Been there, done that.  If you want to go snorkeling of scuba diving, Cozemel is the place to go.  You can rent a motor scooter and tour the island as well as go scuba diving and see the Mayan pyrimids.  Check it out.  But, if you stay in Cancun, check out going to Chitchinitca.  It's an old Mayan town with the Pyrimid and all.  It's a bumpy bus trip though.   ;D

The wife and I were there already several years back, went on a royal Caribbean cruise to there. We have never been to Cancun, and with her, we always have to go somewhere different. I liked the semi nude beaches in Punta Cana myself . lol

Cabo San Lucas is a good vacation trip.   Good diving there.

I take it you like scuba diving? Have you ever found anything worth while diving? I think that would be a lot of fun.

Yeah, I love Scuba diving.  I would stay out of Mexico right now though.  The news this morning showed a Rancher in Arizona whose ranch is near the border, and he was found shot to death while out repairing some fence line.  Allegedly the perp was a wetback trying to steal his 4 wheeler, and the drug cartel had been using his ranch for years to stash their Mary Jane.  It's getting really nasty in the ElPaso area too.  If you haven't been to Europe, you should put that on your list.
