Stallin' progression to death.

So fellow Stangers, I have a problem that just seemed to pop out of no where this semi cold morning in Colorado. My Stang won't start nor, does she appear to have a spark reaching the plugs. On my way to work yesterday afternoon, around 5pm on a short drive of no more then a mile, when slowing down to an idle speed, to either stop or turn, my car died. 3 different times. I just tallied this up to a bad air/fuel mixture, and just needed adjusting was all. Well this morning when it was cold and should have started like a champ, did neither of those things. So my question is this, where does my problem stem from? Recently I replaced the Dist. Cap, with the rotor(plastic piece that twirls under the distributor). With new Spark plugs and new wires....... Are my points going bad? Do I need to invest in a new distributor? Well Gents, I'm at a loss and could really use some guidance. Thank you for your time, and hope to hear something.  ???

Check your condenser or coil, both are inexpensive.

So it was my Coil that was bad. I attempted to replace the condenser as well, but the screw holding it in place would not budge, and looked like someone had tried to change that is well, but to no avail. Thanks for the help, she started right up with no problems!  ;D

Back to this thread gents',

Well my Stang as always, loves to give me little problems. This one seems like one of those that I just can't figure out. This has happened now about 3-4 times in the last month and now am annoyed. This morning, in Denver it was snowing. Left my house went to work for a min, and came back out to my car to go back home, and tried to start her up and got a slow, low sounding, *whomp* Whomp* *whomp*. Like it was trying to turn over but could not. Now I've recently replaced my Starter cyloniod(spelling), so I'm not sure if thats the problem. I did notice tho, that my negative terminal leading to the cyloniod was pretty darn hot. So that made me think to close the gap between the two posts. I did that and got a nice spark coming out. Now What all that means, from what I understand is that power is getting to where it needs to go..... right? If I'm wrong please correct my utter stupidity. lol. OH! Also, when the slow *Whomping* sound finally dies away, there sounds like a buzzing sound coming from my battery, or something around my battery. Constant when I hold the key in Start position. If you don't already have a multi-meter you really should get one.  They are relatively inexpensive at an auto supply place.  The first thing to check is the battery voltage, then check the solenoid.  If you are getting sufficient power across the solenoid, then take the starter out (two bolts) and  take  it and the battery to have the cranking power of the battery and the Bendix spring operation of the starter checked at an auto parts place.  You can have sufficient voltage at the battery, but the cranking power may be insufficient.  Most likely it will be one of those three things.
