Soda Blasting
« on: February 05, 2011, 11:29:08 PM »
I have bought a soda blaster to strip the paint off of my car, I was wondering if this air compressor could handle the load.   http://www.harborfreight.com/air-tools/oil-compressors/5-hp-60-gallon-165-psi-two-stage-air-compressor-93274.html?p=2
Any further suggestions or words of wisdom from people who have soda blasted before?

Depending on the blaster itself, I don't see a problem with that compressor.  I have sandblasted with a similar size and hp compressor so you should be fine.  Just to be sure compare the cfm draw of the blaster to the output of the compressor.  The draw should be equal or less than the output.

This is the blaster I bought. Would the compressor be overkill?

maybe a little, but if you have the money it wont hurt if you use alot of air tools.  This may be a better option http://www.harborfreight.com/35-hp-60-gallon-130-psi-compressor-3848.html
