Rims Rims Rims Look at the and help me!!!
« on: June 02, 2005, 08:17:51 PM »
I have a 66' mustang and the rims that are on it. Well not the most eye catching or rims. So I have looked for rims that would fit my car and there all the same. Those American racing one. So I was cruious if anyone out there know what I would need to buy to fit different lug pattern rims on it.

                            Thanks,

I am having the same problem with my 65 Fastback GT350 Clone.
I need to find out what the dimensions are for the max sized rims i can put on the back,
I have currently got a set of Vintage wheels PIn drives, (replica hallibrand knock-on) which are too wide and stick out from under the body. about 2 inches
I do not wish to roll the fenders or narrow the rear end.
does anyone out there know what the max backspacing and then width of wheel is that i can go to, to have them fit under the fenders still..........i have the standard vintage wheel 7.5x 15 inch at the front , i would like to go with a 9.5x 15 at the rear, is this possible?? and if so what offset and or backspacing will i need.
bear in mind that i am running the pin drive adaptors too.

the max you can run on the rear of your car, without modifying the inner wheel well area or rolling the fender well is a 8.5 wide rim with a 5" backspacing. hope this will help.
