Sure they come in all different sizes, I choose 15X7's because they would fill the wheel wells out just fine and any wider would most likely rub upfront. I considered 7's upfront with 8's in the rear but Glen made a good point of reminding me I would not be able to rotate my tires. I am very happy with the wheels and my selection of tire size as well.

Yeah, anything wider than a 7" wheel on a classic is not necessary unless you are racing the car, then you probably ought to tub the rear and put on some drag slicks and run it through the water trough at the track.

I don't think we have to worry about rotating tires on our classic cars, because they will rot before we need to get a new set.  I like driving my car, but I don't drive it daily for numerous reasons, but in 10 years I'm only going to add 10K or thereabouts on the car and in 10 years I'm gonna want some new tires. 

I did 235s on the rear and 215s up front - I can still rotate from left to right.  I wouldn't let rotating dictate your choice.

You have a good point if you only drive your car a minimum like you have stated.  Some of us, however, drive our Mustangs daily like they were designed to be driven.  I have been through three sets of new tires in the 20 years I have owned my 65, and I have rotated every 10K miles.  If you are rotating left to right with radials, you are fucking up.  You are reversing the steel belts direction of flow as established when you first put them on.  If you have bias ply nylon tires, those are antiques, and should be replaced with steel belted radials.  Bias ply nylon tires are the only tires that could be rotated left to right.

I've been told the directional front to rear rotation is an obsolete way of doing it. The way I do it is right rear to left front right front to right rear etc. Modern tires dont have the problems the older radial tires had. That said rotation right to left negates the bennefit of tire rotation at all. You want the tire to spend part of its life on the drive and part on the stearing..

You want the tires to spend half of their life on the front and half of their life on the rear.  If you have a better way of doing that without swapping front to rear, go for it.   I just can't see some big assed tires and wheels on the front from the rear that just got through with a drag race and they can't even turn.  Come on guys!  That is insane.

It is common knowledge the most practical way to rotate tires are from front to back and vise - versa, certainly not left to right etc. !! Also, to buy the same size tires and rims all the way around. I don't know about you guys but money is tight and why not get the most life out of your investment ?? I plan on driving my 67' a lot and will rotate the tires when I hit 5-10K.

Now let's move off this subject and talk about something else, like the weather........
