it was the coil and i got points just in case they were realy cheap

You really should consider putting in the Pertronix electronic system instead of screwing around with points.

i will be but moneys a little tight i also have to come up with money to go racing for entry fee and gas at the local short track

When I bought my pertronix it was like $65.00. I'll bet they are still less than 100.
