New Member Intro

Hello all,

I thought I was a member of almost every Mustang forum out there, then I stumble across this one.  I'm sure I'll run to some from other forums.  The first name that hit me was Soaring, who used to be a moderator on one of the other forums.

Anyway, I have a '66 coupe.  It started life as a secretary's car for sure, it had a Sprint 200 and auto, power nothing.  It actually did run when I got it, but I have never driven it as the gas tank was removed and I didn't think holding a 5 gallon can out the window would be too cool.

So far I've stripped the entire underside, repainted it all, replaced floorboards in the front, replaced all the suspension, rebuilt my steering box, built and installed my engine (mild 302), rebuilt and installed a T-5 WC and completely replaced the wiring.  Next I will be installing some sound deadening (RaamMat) and my Vintage Air A/C system.  Then finally I hope to start the car for the first time.

I'm still a ways away from completion.  I'll be looking for a paint shop pretty soon, if anyone has suggestions (I'm in Houston) I'd appreciate it.

I'll probably have some questions from time to time, and hopefully I can help others out too.

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming .......

Hello Texasaxman.
Welcome to this friendly site.  Good to hear from you again. Yeah, I was the mod at the site you mentioned, but I got booted because of the nasty assed kids who were posting there and  I kicked most of them off the site.  Admin. didn't like that.  That site turned out to be an advertising site, and attracted a lot of kids who weren't really interested in Mustangs at all.  This site is an All-Mustang site with no bullshit, but has areas where you can travel around the globe and venture off to other topics as well.   Thierry, the owner of this site, is a good guy and we can freely talk about our Mustangs without all the BS rules the other site had.  This is a relatively new site, but it is growing by leaps and bounds.  Stick with us and add your comments and advice at will.  Again, welcome to the site.  My brother lives in the Houston area, and I live in the hill country of Texas, and there are number of individuals who live in the Houston area who are members here, so maybe we can get together sometime for a Texas meet.
It looks like your project is coming along just fine.  Keep in touch, and  give us some pics of the progress.

Hey Soaring,

Thanks for the welcome.  You are right, that other site has too many punks on it for me, that's why I started searching around.

This seems like a nice  site, and I've seen quite a few from other sites now.

As for a meet up for Houston folks, I'd certainly be in but I'm still a ways from being able to drive mine.

Thanks again.
