Interior Question
« on: December 08, 2010, 02:37:06 PM »
The backing of the upper portion of my Mustang rear seat is gone.  What was back there? Anything? Or was there just a plastic sheet that was glued on the metal partition?

I'm not sure about what you are referring to, how about a picture. I'm looking at a page from the 1970 Mustang  interior assembly manual and it shows a panel between the seat and trunk. Is this the thing you are looking for?
I also strongly recomend that you get a set of assembly manuals for your year car.

As with all classic Mustangs the top of the back seat was backed with masonite.  A lot of guys replaced that wih sheet metal to keep the fire  (if there was one) from coming into the back seat.  A rear end collision rarely caused a fire, so I wouldn't worry about it.
