Topic: Ignition Lock

I have a 67Mustang fastback and I am trying to replace the ignition lock. I have taken the old one out, but cannot fit the new one in. The lock goes in 3/4 of the way, but not fully and so it is making no contact. Does anybody have any ideas/advice on the easiest way to fit in the ignition lock?

Put the key in the lock and turn it to the ACC position then put a paper clip in the little hole and push on it.  Now, see if that does the trick.

Hi, I've tried that, but it still does not work. Do you have any other suggestions?

I assume you are putting it in from the backside, and that you are rotating it back and forth until it hits the notches.

Make sure the 'bar' on the end of the tumbler assembly matches the 'slot' at the rear of the switch assembly. Also try the old one just as a sanity check.
