hydraulic lifters
« on: July 22, 2009, 12:10:54 PM »
I've heard a lot of bad things about them and i was wondering if anyone has any personal experience with them? I don't have enough for the roller style sets and so i just wanted to see if anyone can prove if they are not too good or not thanks.

Don't get the engine over 3K RPM.  That means don't race it.  Change gears at about 2-2.5K RPM, and never drive over 70 MPH.  Also, use a quality oil and change it often.  Guys who race their Mustangs have roller rockers.   Those who complain about hydraulic lifters are people why don't know how to treat a hydraulic lifter engine.  They abuse it, and it fails, then they complain.  That is like beating the shit out of your dog every day for a month, then you are surprised when he bites you.
