I already have a 105 amp alt.  The holes in the thermostat will just help the engine stay a small amount cooler for a few seconds. If you are having a heating problem this might help some. Thats why I did it.  After I get the problem under control I will change back to the 180 and a 13 lb cap.

OK.  It's good that you have the 105 amp alternator.  Are you considering a big one blade electric, or a two small blade?  You can get the electric fans off of junk yard Fords and Lincolns at about half the cost of a new one.  If you have a junk yard handy, I would go that route.  I have an article about which one to get  in the FAQ section of the classic section if you need it.

I haven't put used parts on this car yet. I want to keep it as new as possible. I was going to get the single blade.  I took the AC off this atlease until I get the heating problem fixed.  Or I just might sell the new AC system I have. Thanks Tom
