Exhaust system
« on: February 28, 2010, 01:03:03 AM »
The time is coming closer for me to pick my exhaust system. This is what i was thinking i just want some opinions and what not.
I have Hooker headers on my motor already, then 2.5" pipes with a custom X pipe, with Super 44 flowmaster mufflers with the correct Mach 1 tips. Has anyone run this setup or think i should do something different?

Sounds like you have the perfect system for you Tim.  I went with the Ravin mufflers, and dual exhaust, but just added some chrome tips that was handy at the muffler shop.  I'm still running the factory manifolds, because that old 289 is not a hotrod, and I don't plan for it to be.  It will basically still be an original classic.

Yep,

The same set up I have on my 67' only with stainless Magna Flows. I am very happy with the sound and seems to be a perfect fit with the 289.
