Yeah, its the rubber along the front then, I replaced the rubber along the top because of the annoying whistle that was happening. lol. What about between the body frame and the window... like a felt like substance, which presses against the glass on the outside. I'll go ahead and take the starter off and get it checked out tomorrow. And see where that takes me.

What do you all think about a new electrical harness? Is that a plausable thing to do? I'm willing to put in a couple weeks of work and taking my entire weekend out just for that if need be too. Something for someone like me to do? It doesn't appear to hard, and I've looked around, and there is a great guide on Mustang Monthly. If so, where can I find a good harness, OR where can I find the electrical wires that I would need just for my alternator/solenoid. Because the wires there are brittle and slightly exposed...

Thanks gents,
Steven

Painless wiring makes the best harnesses.  They are numbered and stuff so you can't screw up.  The rear harness and the engine harnesses are the easiest to replace.  The under the dash harness takes a special physical bodied person to rewire it.  I have only done the rear and the engine bay and dread the day I have to take the seats out and lay on my 65 year old back and look up under the dash and replace the harness.

Steven,
A good friend of mine just completed a 68' Firebird which included a complete rewire job. His first such project and it went fairly smoothly and his electrical system worked just fine. As for finding the harness for the solenoid and alternator for my 67' I could only find a complete harness which included the headlights and other appliances along with the wiring I needed. I really only wanted to re-do the starter relay and alternator and was not willing to spend $150.00 and cut off just the part of the harness I needed. I made due with my existing wiring which is not really too bad.

Yeah, I was looking at the engine harness that deals with the starter relay and the alternator... My wiring is that bad, so I will need to replace it soon. I should have simply done it along with replacing my altenator, but alas, did not have the time nor the money. I looked at Painless Wiring and was slightly confused, and only wanted the engine harness but could not just find that one.... I'll keep looking, but if yall have any quick links to it, I'd appreciate it.

So after yesterday, I'm happy and slightly energized, for I have the problem down to two things. 1st, which I think is most likely correct, is that the outlet going to the solenoid start switch is bad, and I'm going to cut off the plug and splice a new ring end to it. Or the entire wire is bad, in which case I'll just get the new Harness. 2nd, it could be the ignition switch. I have a voltmeter and checked the accessory node, and on the ON position it was getting a steady voltage(apparent by stereo and everything else being on), but the 12 volts was being pushed as well. When the key turns to the START pos, there is no voltage still to that one plug.... So I hope its just that one plug, or wire.... but I'll prolly end up just getting the new harness... Easier in the end. Let me know if this sounds plausable or even remotely right. lol. Thanks guys for your help so far.

Well gents I have the problem down to the wire. I know now that it is not my Alternator Harness, for this wire leads elsewhere, but I did order the altenator harness for that does need to be replaced. Anywho, here is the wire that is not getting any voltage to it, even when the switch is turned to the start stage. I don't know what this harness would be called, But I think I did see it go all the way back to the firewall, or connects somewhere along the way. All my wires are pretty much wrapped in a crap ton of electrical tape... If yall could help me Identify these wires, it'd be much appreciated. :-)

It appears that the wire you are holding is the hot wire from the ignition switch which energizes the solenoid when you turn the key to the start position.  The post should read no voltage when the key is in the run position.

if you cross the large post to that bare post your starter should engage.  If not the solenoid is bad
