Electrical Problems in '67 Coupe
« on: July 14, 2009, 12:00:59 AM »
Well, I put a Grant steering wheel on, and the steering hub disk that touches the horn contacts touched the blue wire on the hazard switch under the steering wheel (the disk was too close to the turn signal switch).  I found the problem when I tested for voltage at the flasher and found that both the orange wire and the blue wire were hot.

While the hub was touching the blue wire, the turn signals would not flash, but . . . the reverse lights would flash, even with the key off.  Also, the hazards would not work if the reverse light harness was disconnected.

Now, I removed the hub so the wire is not shorted, but now the turn signals do not light up at all, the reverse lights do not light up at all, and the interior dome light and console lights do not work.  The hazards, brake lights, and running lights all work.  All fuses are good.

Any ideas where to start on this?
