Dummy warning sound on transmission?
« on: May 20, 2010, 05:17:33 AM »
Finally got my carb dialed in I think, but my question is with the transmission.  Ive looked high and low for an answer but either over looking it or looking for wrong causes.  While in park she purrs great, but when I put it in reverse or drive I get what sounds like a warning "bell" just a "beeeeeeeeee" and continues until in park again.  She has all her fluids, no major trans leaks and shifts smooth through her gears.  Any ideas?

What transmission do you have?  It could be a myriad of things like slipping belts.  I'd get it to a transmission shop immediately.

hahahaha sorry for laughing but it sounds like a seat belt reminder beep.

lol I would hope it would be something as simple as that.  I believe the trans is a C4 wonder if its a pressure/senser issue.  Not a seat belt reminder, that was one of my thoughts and it does it with seat belt on.  Just hoping it doesnt come down to getting a new trans right now, ah well you buy cars to throw away money cause you love them right? lol May just take it in and have it serviced will keep all posted.
