Topic: Dashboard lights

Hi All
Just woundered what lights should be illuminated on the dash when the ign is on, not starting the engine though. I have a 1967 289. When i turn on the ign all that comes on is the brake light. I woundered if there should be a red alt light and a yellow oil light?....Or not.

Yeah, you should have at least a red alternator light.  Not sure about the oil light on a 67.  But, I get a red oil light on my 65.  Most likely you should too.  Check those bulbs.  And, also remember that the dash lights are controlled by a variable resistor in your headlight switch. If the bulbs check out, you may have to replace the headlight switch.

Um, I think only the brake light comes on buddy. You should have an amp gauge that tells you if you are having problems with the alternator(doesnt work that well) and you have a oil pressure gauge for the oil.
