CSRP brake kits
« on: May 30, 2008, 01:25:37 AM »
Hi all

i already have a basic disc conversion on my car but considering an upgrade to the CSRP kit. I like the original style KH 4 spots and the individual parts and/or whole kit seem pretty reasonably priced to me.

any one had any experience with this kit?

Haven't had any personal experience using their kit as I am 4 lug and intend to stay that way  :). I've heard, seen, and read great thing about their kits and help dept. Looks like a well put together kit at a very reasonable price.  If I were doing a 5 lug conversion I would use one of their kit.

While I was the moderator on another Mustang forum, Dennis (the owner) and I had several conversations about his kit.  I also had several members of that forum buy and install his kit and were very pleased with it.  I would have no reservations at all in purchasing Dennis's kit and installing it.  It has every possible part you will need and at a decent price.  Give him a call and discuss it with him personally.  He is a Texan, and more importantly, an Austin original.  Hook 'em Horns.

I just got it when i bought a new car in 2002. It was good and there are some disadvantages in it. I think you can get int their website and get more details on it from installing to uninstalling.

I just installed a CSRP drum to disc conversion on my 66 Coupe. It took 2 days because it was the first one I did and I got the kit with the new dual bowl master and vacuum booster. The instructions were easy to follow and the conversion was not hard down at the wheels. I had to remove my hood to install the new master and booster, but if you have any mechanical knowledge it is a good weekend project.  Any questions I did have about the instructions all I did was email CSRP and they always replied quickly. As I said I did this myself so I purchased a vacuum bleeder to bleed the lines. You can get one from Harbour frieght for $29. I didn't know this until after I spent $60 on one from Advance Auto.
