As the title says, I am considering some upgrades as I'd like to get a little track time in my car.
I know enough about drivetrains to be comfortable with that end of things, but there are so many choices of suspension products I just don't know what works and what is a waste of money.
Currently I have fresh 5 leaf rear springs, rear sway bar and front stock sway bar, KYB shocks and subframe connectors. All the bushings seem to be in good shape and I've had a good alignment, but other than that, it is still basically stock. Power disc up front and drums in back. I have a 5 speed and plenty of horsepower-now I need to figure out how to use it safely.
What works?
What is a waste of money?
How do I develop a comprehensive plan before I go any further?
I have a budget (sort of) and would like to spend no more than $2500.00 dollars and if I could break it into 3-4 specific projects that would be even better as I just don't get as much time to do the work as I want.
I do not want to replace the entire front or rear suspension-bolt on is preferable, welding is okay, cutting anything major out of the car is not an option.
I want the car to handle curves and corners better than it will now. that is the primary area for improvement. I'll sacrifice ride quality to a point. I do not care about tire wear-if it increases, that is fine.
This car is my toy, it is not a daily driver, but I do like to cruise in it and don't want it slammed to the ground (Which I know is not a good way to improve handling in reality) and I don't want wings or splitter front air dams
So give me your experiences and thoughts
