No, it should be about right unless you are running a real hot cam and low ratio rear end that will have you spinning up over 6000 rpm regularly.

well i was gonna put a roller cam in, a COMP cam for sure, just not sure which one yet, with roller rockers. as for the gears, probably 3.73's.

I agree that it sounds just right for your application. After you upgrade, you might want to re-think, but for now, you are dialed in just right.
