cable clutch conversion kit for a 65
« on: June 04, 2010, 08:00:42 PM »
I am just about ready to buy a cable clutch kit and was wondering what brand would be best to go with. It had one to start with but not sure what brand or type.

Try Mustang's Plus http://www.mustangsplus.com/ in Stockton, CA. They pioneered the clutch cable type mechanism to compliment their restomod projects.

I went with the kit from Modern Driveline, I liked their cable setup and wanted a kit with 'everthing needed' all in one box  :)

Modern driveline has a good reputation.  I'm sure you will get  good service from their cable kit.  Take your time, and put it in right.   And, welcome to the site.  Send us a picture or two of your 65 fastback, we'd love to see it.

Did you build your own rotisserie, or did you buy a new one?  You guys who do that sort of restoration have my praise.  But, when you are through with it, you'll know what you have.  Every part of it will have been touched by your hands.  No rush on the pics, it's just good to see the progress.  Are you going to restomod it, or leave it basically factory?  A restored factory GT would be priceless.  Jim Curylo (66GTKFB) has an original K code that everybody idolizes.  There's no telling how much that car is worth.  But, Sammy, yours is a lowly coupe like mine.   ;D

I built the rotisseri for my 52 chevy and them sold it to a friend and borrowed it back for the mustang. yes it is a lowly coupe not even the hipo. just the 225hp gt. but it is a real gt so that is a plus
