Helping my son with his 66 mustang coupe 289 automatic. Seems to be grap bag of parts from multiple year and model fords. We need to replace the flexplate, but before we do should we makes some changes to get us back to 1966 mustang or are we good to go? NOT going to make it a concours show car. Runs fine except for the bad flexplate. Hard to determine correct flexplate.
Engine casting is E0AE D3C 11 Tag 0E30. From what I can determine it is a 302 from May 1980. Generic full size Ford.
Transmission Tag is PCW AN 289 6D 4? D4. Again, what I could find is it is from 1966 Fairlane/falcon column shift. The casting number C6DP 7006 seemed to agree. 1966 Falcon. However the car is a console shift. Assuming it was converted to console from column?
The bell housing has casting numbers C5OP 7976 A. Research shows 1965 Fairlane.
So we have 66 Mustang body, 1980 engine unknown model, 66 c4 Falcon/Fairlane tranny and 1965 Fairlane bell housing. The bell housing is 6 bolts to engine.
So 157 tooth 28oz flexplate or ?
Thanks in advance.
